BACKGROUND

Antisynthetase antibodies are associated with a diverse range of clinical manifestations, some of which can be severely disabling or life threatening. The most important of these are inflammatory lung and muscle disease.

OBJECTIVE

To describe the spectrum and severity of clinical manifestations of patients with antisynthetase antibodies and to contrast findings among the different antibodies.

METHOD

Retrospective analysis is performed based on the clinical date of approximately 300 patients with a positive antisynthetase antibody (immunoblot) identified through John Hunter Hospital laboratory between January 2010 to March 2023. The clinical dataset comprises serological indices, patient history, physical examination findings, electromyography rsults, magnetic resonance imaging interpretations, muscle biopsy results, computed tomography chest characteristics, assessments of pulmonary function, initiated therapeutic interventions, satisfaction of antisynthetase syndrome diagnostic criteria, and mortality status.

RESULTS

To be presented.
